Abstract

2020 PCIC - 0713, ? As proposed at the conference this switch and control gear containing HVCB C37.04 need to be eliminated from the power grid.? The original AC system patents filed between 1840 to 1888 did not contain circuit breakers nor did direct current circuit systems contain circuit breakers over 1000 volts covered by high voltage standards.? While the original paper concentrated on past, present and future technologies of high voltage switchgear this analyzes exactly why openings and closings on high voltage systems should be eliminated, and the system should make accommodations to make the connections to the power system simultaneously on the high voltage and neutral voltage connections of each winding.? The original decision making, the vector diagrams, losses and reliability factors of such a change to the power grid will be studied in this paper. ? Cable fed, distribution, sub transmission and transmission circuits will be considered in the analysis.?
