IEEE is going weird (3)
IEEE is going weird ... again:
Earlier this morning (Thu Jul 25, 2024) I received an email from IEEE Education Society <[email protected]>
Among the others the email said:
"View Call for Nominations (https://ieee-edusociety.org/awards/awards-recognition-program)
View Award Descriptions (https://ieee-edusociety.org/awards/ieee-edsoc-awards-recognitions)
IEEE Education Society Call for Awards Nominations
Extended Nomination Deadline: 7 June 2021
Dear IEEE Education Society Member,
This message is to remind you that the nomination deadline is approaching for the annual awards of the IEEE Education Society (https://ieee-edusociety.org/) .
All award nominations and reference forms MUST be submitted by 11:59 PM EDT (UTC -4:00) on 7 June 2021 to be considered."
As it seemed strange to refer on a deadline dated back 3 years ago, I visited the website: (https://ieee-edusociety.org/awards/awards-recognition-program) to check things. There I found this:
"Nominations for the annual awards of the IEEE Education Society will be open from 9 January 2024 to 9 June 2024."
Hmmm ... Is there any EdSoc educator who could teach me about reasons to instruct readers to follow deadlines that are already over?
