IEEE EMBS 2018 ADCOM ELECTIONS

MICHAEL FRIEBE one of the candidates for TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE 

There are great candidates for this years IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), all very respected leaders in the biomedical engineering community. I would still hope that YOU -- as member of the IEEE EMBS -- would pick me as one of the two representatives for this 3 year assignment in the category TECHNICAL. As Senior Member of IEEE and Distinguished Lecturer of the EMBS I have travelled the world in the last years to excite and stimulate students and academics on topics of BIOMEDICAL Innovation Design + Entrepreneurship and to rethink the current development value propositions in biomedical engineering.

I have tried to combine and merge experiences of my 'previous' professional life as medical technology entrepreneur with the new challenges as researcher and university professor. Translational and interdisciplinary training to educate future healthcare and MedTec innovators with an entrepreneurial forward looking and critical mindset is my personal motivation ... especially for technologies and concepts that further improve image guided therapies and support personal disease prevention.

In combination with Exponential Technologies (AI, ML, 3D, Synthetic Biology, Robotics, ...) this is hopefully leading to a shift from stationary to ambulatory to home-care and will also provide affordable healthcare delivery solutions for the developing and emerging world.  

Please support me in a future role as member of the IEEE EMBS Administrative Committee (ADCOM) to foster interdisciplinary innovation and entrepreneurship education and to further stimulate disruptive thinking to solve some of the major healthcare issues with the help of biomedical engineering innovations.
