To IDEO.org's New Chapter — A Letter from Shauna

Dear friends of IDEO.org,?

I am writing to share some news.

After 11 incredible years at IDEO.org, I have made the decision to step down from my role as CEO to pursue my next chapter and make space for new leadership. Starting in August, I’ll be shifting into a part-time advisory role, supporting the organization’s mission and our partners while also exploring new pursuits in my life.

While this was an incredibly difficult decision to make, I look back on the past decade with profound pride. Helping shape this organization—as a designer, storyteller, and leader—has been an absolute privilege of a lifetime. I’ve been honored to work with so many of you in pursuit of designing a more just and joyful world and I look forward to seeing what the next chapter will bring. ?

With that in mind, I am excited to share that IDEO.org’s board has appointed Michelle Kreger as incoming CEO.

As Managing Director, Michelle has been instrumental in shaping the organization over the past eight years, building many of our most impactful partnerships with organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, MSI Reproductive Choices, Child Poverty Action Lab, and Stanford University. She is a steadfast champion for design, and a seasoned social impact leader.

Prior to joining IDEO.org, Michelle was a member of the founding team at Kiva, where she helped scale the organization’s microfinance network to a global $1 billion entity before leading their innovation team.

Having worked closely with Michelle over the past eight years, I could not be more thrilled to see her step into this role and lead IDEO.org into its next chapter!
