Identity Crisis
Yvonne C. Freeman
I'm a Bible Christian. An author, poet and song writer posting poetry from my books inspired by the written word of God
"You only?have?I?known?of all the families of the earth: therefore?I?will punish you for all your?iniquities." - Amos 3:2
Our past is a cautionary tale. Sinning against God is a costly ordeal. Israelites were a nation blessed by God then cursed because of their sins. The Lord scattered Israelites all over the world because of the continued sins of our forefathers. Many people today don't know their ancestors are israelites. No wonder we have an identity crisis.
Who am I – where did I come from – who are my ancestors –?what country of origin can I call home??The Russians came from Russia, the Germans from Germany,?the Chinese they came from China. I am not an African?although we share the same skin color.?Dear Lord where do I belong? Where did my ancestors come from?
“The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.” – Isaiah 1:3?
An identity crisis I never knew I had until I discovered I am a Hebrew by blood, Israelite by nationality and African American by slavery.?Let the Bible tell my story. The Prophets who walked with Jesus bear witness of who I am. God had our history written in the Holy Bible as not to be erased or forgotten such as people are trying to do today. After all who would know better than God who created mankind? Are you calling God a liar?
Scattered were my ancestors from continent to continent.?They did not migrate of their own free will like others from European countries but traveled in the belly of ships chained so not to escape.?They were sold into slavery, auctioned off like cattle. A girl bought for a bottle of wine.?They were traded from one slave master to another.?What other nation can testify of that?

“And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.” - Joel 3:3
Identity crisis I inherited from my ancestors –?children separated from their parents?never to know their siblings or relatives.?Can you image that? It's written in the Bible?confirmed in history books – encyclopedias –?those inhumane horror stories my ancestors endured. Does the Israelites ordeal describe your forefathers? If so, then you know who you are.
An identity crisis I no longer have. Who am I? I am an Israelite. How do I know? The Bible told me so. You must believe all God had written or nothing at all. You can't pick and choose what's convenient for you and toss out everything else. The Holy Bible (KJV) was written for our edification it's of?no?private interpretation. Now I know where I belong. In New Jerusalem with my Lord and Savior that’s where I will one day call home.
"That then the?Lord?thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will?return?and?gather?thee from all the nations, whither the?Lord?thy God hath scattered thee." - Deuteronomy 30:3
