My fellow programmers, if you know something about multi-threading, I need your help!

I'm running my very last experiment for my Ph.D. to test a visualisation of the performance parallel/multi-threaded programs. You'll be asked to look at some source code and answer a few questions, then to look at some more code with a visualisation at your disposal. I can promise that the programs are small, but you might find them interesting!

The code snippets (6-7 lines of code each) are in C++ and the experiment should take about 30 min of your time.
