Ideas United Earns “Atlanta Best Startups to Work For” on Built In’s Best Places to Work List

Built In recently awarded Ideas United (iU) in its 2023 Best Places To Work Awards, placing them in their “Atlanta Best Startups to Work For” category. The annual awards program includes companies of all sizes, from startups to those in the enterprise, and honors both remote-first employers as well as companies in large tech markets across the U.S. Other winners include Zoom, Reddit, NBCUniversal, Etsy, Bank of America, Peloton, and Warner Bros. Discovery, among others.

Built In determined the January winners of Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation and benefits. To reflect the benefits candidates are searching for more frequently on Built In, the program also weighs criteria like remote and flexible work opportunities, programs for DEI and other people-first cultural offerings.

At Ideas United, our benefits and perks include Healthcare, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 401(K) Plan, Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, Short-Term Disability, Flexible Schedule, Education, and Agency Life. But it’s not just about offering health benefits to keep your workforce healthy. It’s also about offering other benefits like paid time off for when employees fall ill or need to take care of a loved one that is ill.?

My favorite perk, and one I value a lot, is having a flexible schedule. My commute is a bit long, about 38 miles on I-85, which means it can take me anywhere from 50-100 minutes to get to the office. Providing a true hybrid and flexible work environment has brought work-life balance back into my life. There’s nothing like being trusted to get the work done.

DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) is also a huge part of not only iU’s company culture, but our success. Our motto is “we’re changing the way stories are told” and we can’t do that without diverse voices. Great stories come from people with different backgrounds, cultures, expertise, and experiences, and for each partner we work with, we build out the team with a focus and balance of our Core and Community members. This gives us a distinct advantage by looking at the story from various angles and building it in a way that we think the audience will respond best to. Being able to lean on the diversity of our Core team as well as our global iU Community is a tremendous strength our partners benefit from. This attitude of inclusive diversity has helped prove the iU recipe for success, both internally and externally.

Ideas United is an employee-centric company. Our philosophy is that if we take care of our employees they will take care of the company. When implemented correctly, with an employee-centric mindset, incentives and benefits can have a positive impact on company culture.

I believe that when a company offers benefits it is sending a lot of different messages to its employees and prospects. When a company offers benefits, they are seeking top talent. Benefits are part of the overall compensation and are typically a deciding factor for job applicants. If a company is offering benefits, not only are they looking for top talent to attract - they are also investing in their workforce. As a prospective employee, I want to know that a company cares enough to invest in me.?
