It’ll be interesting to see how the algorithmic pricing at Wendy’s works out. Companies have been doing this for years and it makes sense in theory and in practice from what I’ve seen, but I wonder if doing this for something like fast food will be different. When I go to McDonald’s I’m familiar enough with the prices and I expect to pay that, I’d be kinda pissed if I went and had to pay a surcharge for a burger. I don’t feel the same way about airline tickets or Uber rides though and totally accept the surcharge. It will be interesting to see how the market responds.
