Ideal Time to Study

Is there an ideal time of the day for a student to study?
My first question to yourself is this one. Are you an early bird or a night owl as a person? Because optimal learning is dependent upon the learner and there is no such thing as ‘best’ time of the day to study. Normally, we become most productive when we have the most energy as a human. That is why some students are early birds who wake up with lot of energy whereas night owls have more energy in the evening.
As a student who practiced both methods, here are the advantages that I noticed in studying as a day and night learner. There is a calm environment at night where most of the people are trying to have rest. There are fewer interruptions and distractions as a result. You can improve recalling of what you studied once you study and sleep. Even it provides a clear mind for creative thinking as well. As a school student, I used to study as a night owl.
But as an undergraduate, the studying time shifted to early morning due to the change of lifestyle. In early morning, the brain is fresh after a good sleep. Hence, it can absorb more information effectively. By this way, your sleeping patterns are not disrupted as you work according to the natural motion of the sun. In addition, the brain is able to focus more. With increased duties and responsibilities later on in life as a wife and a mother, now I have adjusted early morning time for my academic related activities.
How to find the best time to study?

Simply find when are you most alert as a person. Is it during morning or night? Also check when there are less distractions and interruptions in life. Because your optimal time should not be prone to deviations. Then there should be consistency in your studying where you can stick for a longer period because it improves the quality of your study time. According to my experience, just as each individual student has unique learning styles, the students may learn better during different time periods of the day. If you study on a specific time continuously, then you can condition your brain as well as the body gradually. After a while, you will be in the best mood (either day or night) for studying if you allocate a specific time for a study routine efficiently.
