“Ideal Job Vision Board” - for High-Achieving Women Over 40

I am sure many of you have created a New Year vision board at some point or another containing images and phrases that represent your aspirations and goals. While it’s a creative way to make a visual representation (and get more clarity) of what you’re looking for in life - you can also do this for understanding what you would consider to be your ideal job – and it can serve as a reminder of your long-term goals.

There are two options on how you can go about creating your ideal job vision board:

A.????? You could use Canva (https://www.canva.com/create/vision-boards/) to create your collage of aspirational images and phrases that describe what you’re looking for in your ideal career. You can use images from the Canva free library or upload the ones you find elsewhere on the internet. Afterwards you can print it out (or have it printed professionally) or use it digitally as a reminder of what you’re seeking for in your job!

B.????? You can also create it physically by taking a large piece of paper or cardboard as a base and then finding aspirational images on the internet and magazines and cutting/printing them out. After that you can glue them on your vision board along with the key phrases that describe what you’re striving for.

Steps:

1)????? Write down everything you would want in your dream job/career. It can be written as a full story or just key phrases in a list.

2)????? Do a quick analysis of your vision board to see what sticks out. It’s an important step because it will help you solidify your thoughts into concrete takeaways and give you more clarity moving forward.

3)????? Get a notepad and a pen and spend some time reflecting on and recording your answers to the following prompts:

a.?????? What common themes do you see on your vision board?

b.?????? What kind of interests and skills are depicted on your vision board?

c.?????? How would one day at your ideal job look like?

d.?????? What kind of jobs or careers would match the scenes on your vision board?

e.?????? What kind of steps can you start taking to get closer to your dream job/career?
