To be able to seize every day, salespeople have to establish a few powerful habits. Habits that’ll make their life relatively easier, giving them an opportunity to boost their overall productivity, and become a sales champion.
While habits and routines are required by everyone, salespeople have a lot of target-related stress which makes them an ideal candidate to follow schedules and structure, in order to re-prioritize their most important tasks accordingly.
And not to forget, the secret to success is made up of small stepping stones along the way. It’s a continuous process laid with constant learning, trial and error, and habit building.
- Start your day on a positive note
This goes without saying but start your day on the best note. Wake up without looking at your phone. Get ready, move your body (perhaps exercise). Meditate and journal. Visualize your goals for the day. “What would I like to achieve today?”
Make it a wonderful morning routine. Something that works for you and is suited to your lifestyle. Also, write down your to-do list, prioritize the most important tasks first. Say your daily affirmations and instill self-confidence to go after what you want!
2. Train and learn every day to become better
Just like an athlete learns from the best coach on various aspects of training to become a champion. Salespeople need to keep an open mind to continuously learn from experts, sales coaches, mentors. There’s always so much we can learn and implement from so many resources available today.
I myself have been a sales coach for over a decade now, and I get all kinds of clients coming to my training. They may be experts or novices, it doesn’t matter. Learning never stops.
I religiously make time for learning. Whether it’s video editing or copywriting, I’m a big believer in keeping my mind sharp and open to learn so we can apply the best practices to our work. Especially, as a sales coach, it’s imperative to keep abreast of all things trending!
3. Do prospecting early in the day
Research shows that morning is the best time to create warm new leads. Since you have the least amount of distractions during this time, your chances of building strong relationships with prospects are high. Don’t take the fresh mornings for granted. It can make or break your prospecting phase. Possibly helping you with generating qualified leads to flood your sales pipeline.
4. Keep a track of your activities
Perhaps write down where you spend your time the most, on which sales activities, etc. Oftentimes, we never know where most of our time gets lost. This practice helps us redefine our daily routines and improve productivity even further by maximizing our time.
5. Use sales automation tools to reduce manual workload
Now, companies such as Microsoft have come out with sales automation tools such as voice call analytics, workplace analytics, recommendation AI engine, etc. These tools are designed to make your life easier, by reducing the manual tasks such as follow-ups, analysis, and other typical admin tasks most of us salespeople have to deal with. By implementing automation, you can reduce time-waste, improve efficiency and focus on the actual sales work — selling.
These tips are helpful, but there could be more. If you have any useful tips that may help supercharge sales revenue while boosting sales person’s productivity, do drop your tips in the comment section below. I would love to know!

3 年End your day on a positive note as well. Write down a few things each day that you accomplished, no matter how small, so that you don't go into your evening focused on the challenges or failures. Use that list to help build the next days activities - capitalize on what's going well.

3 年Great article. I recently read another article that says that you need to also always review your activities and retrospect on certain activities. You can stop activities that are not productive and this will give you space to start new activities that will add value to you as a salesperson.
