The following are four steps to planting seeds in the mind of your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) through your content:
Step 1: Categorize your content into three types - Bottom of Funnel (BOFU), Middle of Funnel (MOFU), and Top of Funnel (TOFU).
Step 2: Define the purpose of each content category. BOFU content should be tailored to your ICP, addressing their biggest problems, and sharing the processes you use to solve them. MOFU content should target the sphere of influence around your ICP, aiming to be the answer to every conversation they have. TOFU content is meant to showcase your personality and reach as many people as possible.
Step 3: Assign content ideas or formats for each category. For TOFU content, you can share your journey, personal stories, and beliefs. MOFU content can focus on market trends and tools that your ICP's team can use. BOFU content can include how-tos and testimonials from clients.
Step 4: Create a weekly content strategy that includes a specific content category for each day. For instance, you can post a TOFU story on Mondays, a BOFU how-to on Tuesdays, a TOFU opinion on Wednesdays, MOFU tools or trends on Thursdays, and a BOFU client testimonial on Fridays.
By following these four steps, you can start living inside your ICP's head and communicate with them more effectively.
