If some of these words don’t look familiar to you, don’t worry – I made two of them up. As an author and speaker, I’ve learned that if there isn’t a word that communicates my thought, I make one up! This simple formula – ideaize, prioritize, actionize – will help you achieve more.
- Ideaize. Be open to possibilities. You need to engage in an ideation process with little to no limits, go beyond your comfort zone and adopt a “what if” perspective. This is when you ideaize.
- Prioritize. You must prioritize your ideas and objectives so that you can focus on what’s most important. Avoid being distracted and be present with the things you value most. Distractions will always be there and can often cause you to avoid taking action, allowing fear and discomfort to cloud your ideas.
- Actionize. Actionize your ideas based upon your priorities. There’s no such thing as a great idea – only good ideas that are put into action. Actionizing is the process of developing an action plan to implement your ideas in accordance with your determined priorities. And remember … always just one step (usually small steps) at a time.
There it is! Ideaize – Prioritize – Actionize … then watch things happen. Goals will be achieved and impact will occur in ways you never imagined. Ready, set, go!
