An Idea Who's Time Has Come!
Unless we're going to throw the bums out #throwbumsout of office in Congress, we should at least limit their power to spew self-serving legislation from their lofty seats in DC.
Q. Who gets to default on their student loans?
A. Members of Congress, their families, their staff, their staff's families.
Q. Who is exempt from sexual harassment suits?
A. Members of Congress
Q. Who is exempt from the abusive Obamacare "healthcare reform"?
A. You guessed it, Members of Congress!
A. Who gets full pay for the rest of their lives, even if they only serve one term?
Q. Say it with me, Members of Congress!
The best idea I've heard recently is a new amendment to the Constitution that prohibits Congress from passing new laws, that they themselves are exempt from following, and only we lowly citizens must follow.
This is an idea that I've heard and like...
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States ..."
The real question is how do we make that happen.
A Constitutional Convention? It takes 38 States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
NOTE: Apparently 35 states have already filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states. That could also be the forum for a Constitutional Convention to stop these self righteous bureaucrats from committing further improprieties.
