IDD learning and community opportunities in 2022 & 2023 + latest updates [September 2022]

While July and August had a bit of downtime for the IDD team — Nadine enjoyed time in Paris and Amsterdam and Melissa discovered what it means to have a “bumper crop” of tomatoes in her New England garden — it was a?productive planning?period too.

We had a brief partners’ meetup in NYC in July followed by an online Confab 2.0 with our fabulous IDD advisors who span 5 continents. Looking back at the IDD’s first year of programming and community-building, we drew up our 2022-23 schedule and recommitted ourselves to a shared vision of?IDD as the dedicated community and learning space for passionate, experienced “Differences” peers across all fields, contexts?and regions.

THE RESULT??A set of?new? After Hours Around the Table with the Experts?2022?online programming?— next up this November are Uli Kühnen and Nadine Binder —?plus dates for not one, but?two!?Developing Across Differences (DAD) Learning Labs & Community Weeks?in 2023. We'll return to?The Netherlands (July 2023), then head?to Cairo for a Middle Eastern & African Edition with local experts in November 2023. Put the dates listed below in your calendar and plan to join us.?

A FORWARD-LOOKING LEGACY.?In August, we were honored to have been asked by Janet Bennett's estate to host a virtual?celebration of her life and work?and to co-organize?the?Janet M. Bennett Intercultural Library. We feel fortunate to help to modernize this extraordinary?resource?— the world's most comprehensive contemporary and archival?intercultural collection — and contribute to?Janet's legacy. We invite you to?support this worthy cause?at?interculturallibrary.org.
