I'd Rather Stand Tall

Dear lovebugs,

How have you been?????????????????????????

I’d like to start this way, “everyday is a good day to be a good day” – Joyce Meyer.

The mind is the powerhouse of our bodies so, most of the time, our successes and failures are determined there.

Life won’t always go easy on us, and I acknowledge that mental fortitude isn’t a walk in the park. That is the reason why you must choose to keep fighting. Like the series, “the intersection between big dreams and success,” have shown us repetitively, YOU CAN FIGHT FOR YOURSELF AND YOU CAN FIGHT FOR YOUR DREAMS!!!

2023 is going to be a good year but I’m glad that I learnt in 2021 that a good year isn’t devoid of failures, or setbacks or some negativities. No, what makes it a good year is how you perceive it and how much you grow through it.

This also applies to dealing with disappointments and the likes. The year is made up of days and like Joyce Meyer quoted, you can wake up each day with a determination to have a good day irrespective.

The year is like going up a flight of stairs at the end of which is the goal you set. It might not seem like much but even one step is progressive.

That is the mindset you should have. Please practice self-compassion. You are indeed trying. Acknowledge it enough for that thought to make you smile.

I was humming a song, “Conqueror” by the Empire Cast earlier when some of the lyrics struck me. It goes,

“I'd rather stand tall

Than live on my knees

Cause I'm a conqueror

And I won't accept defeat

Try telling me no

One thing about me

Is I'm a conqueror”

Very beautiful lyrics to ruminate over until you believe each line and project same.
