"I’d never worn a shirt quite like that."

Recently we said goodbye to our star copywriter Kajsa Stiller as she is about to leave the fashion industry for a new career within the world of literature. Before leaving we got to sit down and summarize her time at Eton, get some great tips for future copywriters and to find out about a love she shares with the Eton customers.?

As a Senior Copywriter with years of experience from several different companies - what is your best advice to future copywriters out there???

  • Make your creativity fly

"To be able to play is literally the most precious resource we have in this industry. Creativity is our cotton, our raw material. Without it, there is nothing, no matter how clever the strategy. So, learn how to let yours soar. Even better, ask someone to play with you. You’ll come up with something neither of you would have on your own."??

  • Learn to fail

"Be proud of failing every once in a while (however, do your best to only fail the same way once). If you don’t ever fail, you are not being creative. You’re playing it safe. That’s fine too. But failing, and learning from it, means you are reaching for something beyond that."??

  • Understand the assignment

"Just know your product, understand the brief (ask questions!), make collaboration a priority, and, most importantly: understand the customer."??

  • Use whatever power you have wisely

"Words matter. Make them matter in a good way."??

  • Be nice. To others and yourself

"Creativity takes courage. So be kind to yourself, and your teammates. You’ve got guts. All of you."???

  • Go home

"Not always, and not always early, but enough days in a month that you can honestly say that you have a work-life balance (And no, you can’t wait until you’re done with your to-do list – you will never be done. It’s not that kind of job)."

You’ve been part of so many processes and projects during your time at Eton. What are your best memories?

"I can tell you which projects are closest to my heart – our brand platform, which I worked on under both Helena Thorell and Janelle Hallberg, and Eton’s company values. We wanted the values to create direction and inspire the culture of this heritage brand as it grows and develops to inspire not just this generation of men, but the next. I’m really proud to have been a part of that team. Thank you, Birgitta K?llén for being the ultimate partner, to Jonathan Ulenius for doing all the heavy lifting exploring existing beliefs, and to David Th?rewik and his management team for being so open for collaborating throughout the process."??

What do you share with the Eton customer?

What I personally relate to the most is perhaps our shared love of style. That unstoppable, borderline ridiculous conviction that your day will be a little better if you dress in a way that inspires you. Even on a rainy Wednesday. Perhaps especially on a rainy Wednesday.??

We also share a special appreciation for Eton’s iconic Signature Twill shirt. On my second week at Eton, I persuaded Adrian, then Store Manager at the G?nghester Outlet, to help me find a Signature Twill shirt in a fit and collar size that would suit me and my body type. I was already a fan of an oversized white shirt – which, since Eton only has fits made for men, is where we ended up. But. I’ll be honest: I’d never worn a shirt quite like that.??

My immediate thought was “so this is what a shirt is supposed to be like”.?

There’s just something about the fabric – the luster, the feel of it – you can tell how much love and dedication has gone into creating it. How every choice, from the cotton to the stitches is simply the best it can be, and the result, is … effortlessly luxurious. I love that. All that effort. All that easy elegance.?

What are your favorite things with Eton that not many people know??

It is a cliché, but as they tell you in ad school: clichés exist for a reason. They’re simply true to a lot of people, a lot of the time. And I will miss the people.??

Dear Kajsa. You will be missed, but we could not be more happy for your sake, and wish you nothing but the best for the future. Keep on rocking that white shirt!
