ICYMI: March 2024

Welcome to ICYMI, the monthly resource for HR and L&D Executives. If you can't quite keep up with my daily posts (it's a lot, I know), then this is the cheat sheet for everything you missed... and a little something extra for subscribing!

Last Month's Top Professional Articles

If you're not already subscribed to HBR, click the image to hear why you should be!

Harvard Business Review stole the show with their Jan/Feb issue that anchored on leadership development. I reviewed three of these articles that provided fantastic insights on overcoming today's leadership stumbling blocks, maximizing your impact when under real-time pressure, and preparing for leadership that's buoyed by AI.

?? HBR: Why Real-Time Leadership Is So Hard

?? HBR: Leading in the Flow of Work

?? HBR: Leading in a World Where AI Wields Power of Its Own

Outside of HBR, there were two other standouts spotlighted in February:

Dave Ulrich and Harrison James published How to Ensure that Human Capability Investments Deliver Stakeholder Value . This resource provided refreshed perspective on using the Organization Guidance System (OGS) to move beyond benchmarking and ensure your HR initiatives are aligned to - and deliver on - stakeholder outcomes.

The CHRO as a growth executive by 埃森哲 was also a keystone publication. This comprehensive report will help you navigate a concerning dynamic: 89% of CEOs say the CHRO should play a central role in driving long-term profitable growth, but only 29% ??of CHROs have both the profile and the conditions they need to act as High-Res CHROs. Just for fun...

I was thrilled to attend the opening night of "The Collection of Sir Elton John | Goodbye Peachtree Road" alongside Jillian Elliott, MBA . Curated by the team at Christie's , this farewell auction showcased hundreds of remarkable items from his Atlanta residence. It was a rare and intimate glimpse into the art that inspired an icon. Lifelong learning transforms challenges into opportunities ?? Bruce Lee once inspired many by suggesting to be water – adaptable, flexible, and ever-flowing. Let's carry this mindset in HR and L&D, continuously evolving and embracing change. #GrowthMindset
