ICYMI | December at JJW Studio

As 2024 wrapped up, we noticed a fascinating shift. Clients leaned heavily into smartphone-crafted videos for quick, organic social hits. At the same time, the need for cinematic, story-led content remained critical, solidifying its place as the foundation of effective marketing strategies.

This balance between fast, snackable content and the depth of storytelling got us thinking about how to approach 2025 with creativity and purpose.

Here are my posts from last month, along with some personal wins from the year. I believe they offer valuable insights into the trends shaping video marketing in the year ahead.

Your Next Video Doesn’t Have to Be Stressful

Feeling nervous about being on camera? Here’s a simple tip: smile more!

It might sound too easy, but a natural smile relaxes your face and voice, making you come across as confident and approachable.

The key is keeping it authentic—constant smiling isn’t the goal. If you feel monotone, try smiling at the next sentence to reset your energy.

A Holiday Long Overdue

After five years without a break, I finally took a two-week trip to the South Pacific with Norwegian Cruise Line and my business ran smoothly the whole time!

Armed with just my iPhone, I couldn’t resist capturing the jaw-dropping beauty of tropical places like Bora Bora and Tahiti. Turns out, the iPhone held its own for the way I love to film. Well done, Apple.

This trip reminded me how important it is to pause, recharge, and find inspiration in the world around us. Come to the tropics with me below!

3 Lessons I Wish I Knew Starting a Business

1. Business growth is a marathon, not a sprint.

2. Don’t wait for the perfect brief just start with what you’ve got.

3. When in doubt, take a walk.

These lessons have shaped my journey, along with celebrating every win, big or small.

One recent win? Seeing our campaign for Designer Rice and Our Sage Telehealth come to life during my daily commute. There’s nothing like watching your team’s work thrive in the real world.

Got Unused Footage? Let’s Put It to Work

A client recently handed us two hours of unused footage with no brief. The result? Three months of standout social media content.

Have similar footage gathering dust? Don’t let it go to waste. Raw footage can be transformed into engaging, attention-grabbing content with the right approach.

Consider this your reminder to dig into those hidden gems in 2025!
