Taking flight
San Antonio's airport has announced multiple new flights this week.
On Oct. 29, the airport announced that it scored another key win as Spirit Airlines is expanding its service to and from the Alamo City. The carrier is launching a new nonstop flight to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
In addition, the airline plans to launch a daily flight from San Antonio to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport from Feb. 20 to March 9 for Mardi Gras season. Read more about these routes from senior reporter W. Scott Bailey, here .
The day after announcing those new flights, the airport shared news that it had secured another nonstop route. Delta Air Lines will launch nonstop flights from San Antonio to Boston, an epicenter of bioscience activity, on Nov. 11. Get the departure and arrival times, here .

Chapter 11 bankruptcies
New Braunfels-based SB Contractors LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas this week. The company has been involved in various bridge and roadway projects throughout Texas, including a contract for expanding Interstate 35 on the northeast edge of San Antonio. In another update, a South Texas gas gathering and processing plant is up for grabs months after its operator filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The plant, previously operated by the Gulfport-based national energy services firm El Dorado Gas & Oil Inc., is now accepting purchase offers. This is one of the final steps in El Dorado's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case filed last December in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
