Windsor Framework Key Changes and New Timelines Announced

The new Windsor Framework arrangements for parcels and freight movements, originally expected to begin on 30th September 2024, have been postponed.

?A detailed timeline will be shared soon, but businesses should be fully prepared by 31st March 2025.?

Additionally, the current Trader Support Service (TSS) has been extended until the end of 2025 as Windsor Framework implementation continues.?

EU Cracks Down with New Import Registration Rules

The European Commission is now registering all imports of products under anti-dumping or anti-subsidy investigations, even before provisional determinations are made.?

This move aims to combat unfair competition, protect EU industries, and streamline procedures.?

The registration process, conducted by Member-State customs authorities, helps prevent import surges before measures are implemented and ensures the retroactive collection of duties when conditions are met.

Government Extends Easing of Import Checks?

The government has announced a temporary extension of the easement for import checks on medium-risk fruit and vegetables from the EU.?

Originally set for January 2025, the checks and associated fees will now be delayed until 1 July 2025.?

This extension allows new ministers to thoroughly review the upcoming border controls and consult with businesses across the import supply chain.?
