The Philippine terminal group International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has
Announced that it will order five post-Panamax dock cranes capable of operating on ships of the
Capacity up to 13,000 teu and 20 gantry cranes on rubber. The new lifting means will be installed at
the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) at Manila Port and ICTSI has underlined that
the five ship-to-shore units will be the largest capacity cranes in the Philippines. The group
specified that the order along with the construction of a new quay that will add to the terminal's six,
is part of the investment program for new equipment for the MICT totaling $ 80 million.
The first three crane cranes will be taken over next year and the last two in 2019.
with the completion of the expansion works and the delivery of the lifting means, the Manila's
annual traffic capacity will rise to 2.75 million teu.
