Iconostasis completed at St John The Baptist church

With the Grace of God, the icons have been completed and installed at the St John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox church in Kitchener. A 4 months process had me painting large and small format works for the traditional alter divide called the iconostasis, using the somewhat forgotten painting style of Byzantium.

When decorating the iconostasis everything revolves round the 2 central large icons of the Most Holy Theotokos and Lord Jesus Christ. Beyond them on the lower level, there are large icons painted of the patron saint St John as well as St Nicholas, St Georgios and St Paraschevas.

The second row is usually reserved for the feast days of our Lord and it is no different here. The largest composition there is of the Last Supper, but also Nativity, Epiphany, Entry into Jerusalem, Descent into Ad, Ascension as well as the Pentecost.

In the name of the parishioners of St. John the Baptist Church, I want to thank you for this God-inspired work!?
