ICO Presales – Are you Ready?

ICO Presales – Are you Ready?

It may be a bear market but there will still be Initial Coin Offerings and ICO presales. Let’s examine the ICO presale because that’s where investors that are less risk averse can maximize profits.

An ICO presale or as it’s typically referred to as a “presale” is a token sales event that takes place before the ICO is made available for the general public to invest.? It’s a method used by some cryptocurrency projects to raise funds before an official ICO is conducted. The presale tokens are sold to interested parties at a specific price. Presale customers are given a price discount to invest early in the new coin offering in comparison to the price at the ICO.?

The presale might prove beneficial for the developers and investors if everything works out well and the digital currency becomes a success at the ICO and beyond. For project developers, a presale is important because they get the much-required funding and decentralization to finalize their projects. For investors a presale is important because they can acquire an altcoin that might be worth a fortune in the future at a steep discount. Project developers also go for an ICO pre-sale to market their coin ahead of the official ICO, targeting a price surge when their token eventually goes public.

?As with any early investment opportunity there are more risks as the project is typically taking on investment to complete it. One risk is that projects can and do fail. If a project fails, the early investors in a presale might find themselves having worthless tokens, and therefore don’t make profits from their investment.

?How do you participate in a presale?? Typically, you sign up to be whitelisted on the project’s discord, social media, or website. Once signed up for a presale, investors should do some research to determine if they wish to participate.

What type of research should I do?

1: Check out the Website - Your first step should be to look around at the project's website.? Get an idea of what the project does, who the team is, how long the development is going to take, what stage of the roadmap they are in, and any other information you can gather casually going through the site.

2: Read the Whitepaper - This should be your first step everytime when starting to do research on a project.? Most projects in the cryptocurrency space have whitepapers, going back to the start of Bitcoin.? Reading the whitepaper will give you a good idea of the project as a whole, the team, the research, tokenomics,? problem being solved, as well as the roadmap.

3: TOKENOMICS! -? Maybe the most important part of a token to research is tokenomics.? This includes the supply available at presale, how much founders receive, how much investors receive, allocation toward the community, and the vesting schedule of the coins.? This information is usually shown in the whitepaper.

4: Social Media - Web3 is built on communities, so most of the research about the community is easy to do.? What you have to do is join or follow the project on? social media (we currently use Twitter, Discord, LinkedIn, and Medium).? Look at what the community is saying and determine - Is this a good one?

5: R&D - Researching the development and management team to ensure they are known publicly is a good method to avoid cases of rip-offs and rug pulls. When the team is not anonymous it can be a good sign for avoiding rug pulls, however that is far from always true.? The most successful coin (Bitcoin) had an anonymous founder, Satoshi.

6: Management Team - The project team should have the ability to complete the task at hand. In this case, long work histories with completed projects build some credibility for the team. Many projects are also open sourced, so you can look at the code itself.? So if you are familiar with github, you can also find what the developers are working on.

7: Influencers - Endorsements by top-level developers and influencers add additional credibility for a token presale.? Influencers, however are often a double edged sword since many scam projects have involved many high end influencers (DJ Khaled, Floyd Mayweather, FaZe Clan, Kim Kardashian)

8: Web3 Market - What’s your overall read on the market?? Do you think this project is in a good market?? Are there people who can use it?? Is it going to do well compared to other web3 projects???

?Why - After completing your research, there is one last question for any investor to ask is why do I want to invest in this project??

To Invest OR Not - Ultimately it takes weighing all the reasons to invest or not to invest to make the best decision.? However the ultimate decision maker is going to be your belief.? Do you believe the project will be successful or not?? And that’s why you buy an ICO presale or don’t.
