iCivil Welcomes Ronald S. Ergott

We are pleased to announce that Ronald S. Ergott is joining our team as Vice President of iCivil Inc.'s Construction Division. Ron most recently served as Assistant District Engineer (ADE) of Construction for MDOT State Highway Administration District 5. As ADE, he was responsible for SHA's construction program including access management for developer projects in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's Counties. He was responsible for creating and managing the annual budget for the District Office Construction in SHA's financial management system. Ron provided leadership, employee development and engineering direction to Area Engineers, an Office Engineer, administrative, and consultant support staff of approximately 100 personnel. The District 5 construction program includes state funded, federal funded and developer projects with a value ranging between $200 and $400 million dollars annually. As ADE of Construction, Ron managed approximately 50 simultaneous projects with multiple shifts.

Ron brings extensive knowledge and experience in delivering high quality construction projects on time and within budget. Prior to serving as ADE of District 5 Construction, he held positions in District 5 Construction as Area Engineer and Office Engineer. In his previous roles, he was responsible for partnering and coordinating with contractors, utility companies, consultant support staff, federal agencies, local agencies, elected officials, designers, and other state agencies. He is well versed in alternative project delivery including design build and CMAR projects, constructability reviews, change order negotiation, scheduling and claims analysis. In addition, other responsibilities included participation in design meetings, public outreach, and preparation of correspondence and metric-based reports such as budget forecasting, status, and beneficial use.

Prior to working for SHA District 5 Construction, Ron worked eleven years for MDOT SHA Office of Materials and Technology (OMT) in various roles including Materials Engineer, Senior Pavement Marking Technician, Metals Technician, and Materials Technician. As Materials Engineer, Ron provided supervision, direction and guidance to SHA District Construction Project Engineers, inspectors, contractors, and manufacturers/suppliers. During his time with OMT, Ron was instrumental in rewriting the MDOT SHA Frequency of Testing Guide which included coordination with OMT Technical Teams and Construction ADEs to ensure all projects statewide were implementing the new requirements.

When Ron is not working to improve Maryland's transportation infrastructure, you may find him at Monster Jam. He brings vital expertise in marketing including audio, graphics, and videography to iCivil Inc. He currently works part-time as AV Manager for Monster Jam and is also responsible for stage management, scoring and communication during the events.

Ron Ergott is an active member of the MDQI Partnering Subcommittee that recently rewrote the SHA Partnering Guidelines and procedures. He will continue to work as a member of this subcommittee and assist with the implementation of partnering on Maryland projects. Ron's participation on this subcommittee directly aligns with iCivil's mission and values.

As Vice President of iCivil's Construction Division, Ron will be overseeing iCivil's construction management and inspection company wide. This includes management of our tasks on mega projects such as the MTA Purple Line Design Build, MDTA Nice Memorial Bridge Design Build, and MDTA I-95 Express Toll Lanes Northbound Extension. Ron will be spearheading our continued growth in construction by leading pursuits for new work and growth in additional areas including assisting with our materials testing laboratory certification program that is in progress. In addition, he will be implementing policies and standards that will provide continuous improvement in quality control and safety.
