News Creator Award for Excellence in Independent Video Journalism

What:?The award recognizes excellence in the work of independent journalists and news creators who produce high-quality and reliable information.

When:?The award entries must represent outstanding journalistic work posted on YouTube between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.

Who's eligible:?Journalists, news creators, storytellers, or small newsrooms who have posted at least 12 videos in 2024, with at least one on YouTube. Small newsrooms are 20 people or fewer.

Media Literacy Training for West African Young Professionals

What:?With the support of expert trainers and each other, young people will better understand AI, disinformation and media literacy, while also having the opportunity to develop compelling and engaging digital projects that increase responsible civic engagement and combat false narratives in the region.

Who's eligible:?18-30 years old from civil society, education, the public or private sector, academia and/or any other non-journalism fields from Cote D'Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Conakry, Togo, Benin, Gambia, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria

What:?An initiative that will support the production of accurate and in-depth reporting on the environment and its intersections with economic, social and political policy.

What:?The awards recognize outstanding reporters, editors, technologists, media managers or citizen journalists from countries where they face major challenges doing their work.

Advancing Gender Equality in Pakistani Media

What:?A program building a network of Pakistani women journalists who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and network to bolster work on gender equality.

Who's eligible:?Women media leaders from the Punjab province in Pakistan.

AIR Network Investigative Grants for Cambodia

What:?Up to $3,000 in funding for journalists to produce an investigative project with the AIR Network. Selected journalists will receive technical support and will be eligible for the AIR Network’s safety and security assistance as needed.

Who's eligible:?Practicing journalists based in Cambodia, or Cambodian journalists based or working from outside of Cambodia.
