ICCEE is the conglomerate of 2 widely discussed topics; Cold chain & Energy Efficiency. The supply chain is a collection of businesses that extends from the supplier to the final consumer.?
Even though the cold supply chain is one of the most energy-intensive systems in the food and beverage industry, little is known about its significant energy efficiency potential and the financial benefits that may be attained from energy conservation efforts. ICCEE (Improving Cold Chain Energy Efficiency) focuses on SMEs in cold chains of the food and beverage sector, including major corporations.
The ICEE Cold Chain Project revolves around the facilitation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the cold chains of the food and beverage sector for undertaking energy efficiency measures (EEMs) after carrying out supply chain energy audits.
Another objective of the project is that the industry concentrates on its cold chains due to the considerable energy needs (refrigerated shipping, processing, and storage) and significant potential for cost savings. EEMs had more potential after adopting the holistic approach and switching from the chain assessment to the perspective of a single enterprise.
To make it possible for EEMs to be updated, ICCEE will a) implement and use an analytical energy efficiency tool to support and facilitate decision-making at various company organisational levels and b) start a programme to build staff and stakeholder capacity as well as a community committed to promoting a shift in the energy culture of the industry. Economic, environmental, and social implications encompassing EEMs' whole life cycle and supply chain will be considered when assessing their viability.
There are few crucial partners involved in this project, such as
EEMs (energy efficiency measures) offer a great chance of bringing about significant economic, environmental, and social advantages. Energy savings aren't the only sustainable benefits obtained through energy efficiency; there are other non-energy benefits.
ü Profitability has improved chiefly due to higher productivity and lower operating costs (such as energy and maintenance expenditures).

? An ergonomically and safely better work environment and a lessened environmental impact due to fewer resource usage and glasshouse gas emissions.
? Less vulnerability to changes in energy prices, which may be affected by various external variables, including severe weather occurrences and modifications to national and local legislation.
? A better public standing.?
? Higher sales.?
? Decreased spoilage.
To conclude, ICCEE thrives on improving the efficiency of the cold chain with their best practices and working on similar projects shortly. They have studied different cold chains of companies and researched and found possible best practices for improving cold chains.
