icare NSW and the NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority Are Burdening Our NSW Health System
The changes implemented under the The Hon Barry OFarrell AO government and continued under Chris Minns and the Labor government have indeed raised concerns about the impact on the NSW health system. The practices of icare NSW and the NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) have led to many individuals being removed from workers' compensation, regardless of whether they are fully healed or recovered. This shift often forces these individuals onto Centrelink pensions and into the public health system, rather than receiving private care.
This transition places a significant burden on the public health system, as many of these individuals still require extensive care and support. The strain on public resources can lead to longer wait times and reduced quality of care for all patients. The need for a more compassionate and effective approach to workers' compensation is evident, ensuring that injured workers receive the necessary support and care without overburdening the public health system.
The denial of claims by insurers adds another layer of complexity to the issue. Many injured workers face additional challenges when their claims are denied, leading to emergency presentations and further strain on the public health system. This situation underscores the need for a more robust and fair workers' compensation system that truly supports injured workers without shifting the burden onto public resources.

The system is indeed funded by businesses through premiums, and it's crucial that it operates efficiently and fairly to ensure that those who need care receive it promptly and without unnecessary hurdles. Addressing these systemic issues is essential for creating a more just and supportive environment for injured workers.
Furthermore, the state, in essence, has shifted its responsibility to the federal government by relying on federally funded health resources and pension systems to balance their budget. This maladministration allows insurers to prioritize profit over people through secret agreements with icare, fostering relationships that many criticize for cronyism and favoritism towards certain claim service providers.
This critical situation calls for an urgent overhaul of the workers' compensation system in NSW. The goal should be to ensure that it serves the best interests of injured workers, providing them with the necessary care and support without unnecessarily burdening the public health system. Transparency, accountability, and a commitment to the values of fairness and compassion are essential to reforming this system and restoring trust among all stakeholders.

Those who allow people to live without a roof over their heads and without food, without the proper protection of law enforcement agencies must bear criminal responsibility under the strictest articles of the Criminal Code. Usually, a politician or high-ranking official is provided for the rest of his life with both houses and an excellent pension, which allows even his descendants to live comfortably.
