NPN Beta - NMOS Inside N-well

Most people think about the Beta of a transistor in terms of the ratio of collector current to base current. In layout, we should think of it in terms of physical characteristics of the transistor that we can influence, like emitter area and base thickness. In this vlog we look at the beta of a lateral NPN transistor, which we often create when we surround NMOS devices with an N-well guard ring, and how we can influence this parameter in layout..
