?? Kill Rock Stars artists TEKE::TEKE have been announced as official soundtrack artists for upcoming game Assassins Creed: Shadows!

ALBUMS

?? Double Double Whammy released Box For Buddy, Box For Star, the new?This is Lorelei record, which is Stereogum’s Album of the Week. Since 2012, New York City singer-songwriter Nate Amos (Water From Your Eyes, My Idea) has recorded and self-released hundreds of songs under the This Is Lorelei moniker and the new record marks their first attempt at a traditional, intentionally written full-length album.

?? Fire Talk released The Gloss today, the new record from Montreal art rock band Cola which, is “a brilliantly considered and concise opus”, mixing a “menagerie of melodic surprises, off-kilter cacophonies, and intriguing lyrical tales to create an album that begs to be revisited” (Far Out Magazine).

?? Topshelf released Scattersun, the new collaborative album from multinational Cloud Rap group Fax Gang and South Korean shoegaze artist Parannoul. It has already earned rave reviews, including one from Paste, who said the record “feels like a new dawn, an opportunity for something bigger than even today’s rock-electronic synthesis projects have hinted at… the transnational sign of a broader, rock-informed hip-hop and hip-hop-informed electro-rock horizon, a world where genre is not a constraint but one of several machines meant to run simultaneously.”

SINGLES

?? Chapter Music released a new three song 7" single from The Male Gays, the answer to the question: what happens when you put two frustrated gay record label nerds together from opposite ends of the world? The cross-continental DIY queer pop band is formed of Guy Blackman, label boss of Melbourne, Australia's long- running Chapter Music, and Bart McDonagh, longtime stalwart of London's Domino Records and owner of his own imprint Amour Foo. The first track Be Kind, “a touching, anthemic queer plea for tenderness”, is available now digitally, with the other two tracks to follow and released on limited 7" vinyl/ digital on August 2nd.

?? ZZK released the new Jackie Mendoza single, Besos y Caf, a psychedelic cumbia pop song that was recorded spontaneously one night in Nice Life Studios in Los Angeles.

PRE-ORDERS

?? Get Better announced that Toronto hardcore punk legends Fucked Up are releasing a new record called Another Day on August 9th! The special edition cloudy clear vinyl is limited to only 100 copies - pre order it here.

?? Get Better also announced a new record from Baltimore hardcore punks Doubt called Held In Contempt will be out July 12th.

?? Gar Hole announced that the new record from New Orleans singer-songwriter Maddy Kirgo, Shadow on My Light, is coming out August 16th. The first single from it, Try Harder, is out now.

?? Joyful Noise announced the release of Glossolalia by Dale Crover—the world-renowned drummer for the Melvins, Nirvana and Redd Kross and singer-guitarist for Altamont. The record will be out September 13th but you can hear and watch the video for the lead single Doug Yuletide.

?? Topshelf announced the first full-length album in 9 years from beloved Tokyo post-rock/math rock band toe. Now I See The Light will be out on July 10th.

?? Earth Libraries announced City Life, the third studio album from beloved Nashville indie rockers The Medium. Check out the album’s lead single and title track and pre-order the record.

?? Velocity Press announced Drumz Of The South: The Dubstep Years (2004-2007), the first photography book to present the early days of dubstep in detail. It features over 200 photographs by Georgina Cook and was first published in 2021 as a Kickstarter campaign. This new edition features a complete redesign, hardback cover and essays from Blackdown, Charlie Dark MBE, Emma Warrenand others. Releases September 6th but pre-order now to get a signed copy and to receive it first.

NEW SIGNINGS

?? Run For Cover welcomed Tacoma, Washington grunge revivalists Enumclawto their family and announced that their new album, Home In Another Life, is out August 30th (pre-order). In the meantime check out first single Change.
