? IC Community Weekly #62
Hey and welcome to another ICCW, where the big news this week is the formal launch of the ??IC Partners Program!!
This program is for distributors, fellow music industry softwares/services, trade associations, communities, business management firms, and other organizations that also work with catalogs and want an easy, zero cost way to team up.
In true IC fashion we’ve actually been honing this for a while now, have some illustrious partners on board already, and there’s no money involved (other than the discount we provide). We see this as just another way to build up the independent community, and help catalogs and artists grow better together <3
So if you also work with labels, publishers, artists, or other catalog businesses, and want to apply to be an IC Partner, check out that page or head straight to the new application form.
With that, onto this week’s crop of community news, jobs, music, videos, tours, industry events, and more from across the IC universe!

NEW RELEASES
ALBUMS
?? Kill Rock Stars released the new Habibi album Dreamachine, which marks a sonic evolution for the acclaimed five piece band, originally founded well over a decade ago by Detroit natives Rahill Jamalifard and Lenny Lynch.
The record was produced by Tyler Love and longtime collaborator Jay Heiselmann and features MGMT multi-instrumentalist James Richardson, who help to create “a singular swirl of analog and digital elements” that underpin the band’s “search for spiritual and physical transcendence.” The end result is a record that’s “as fearless as it is enthralling, an alternatingly fierce and joyous work that ascends to new heights as it reckons with desire and escape, love and surrender, rebellion and reality.”
?? Kill Rock Stars also released a stripped back version of Messages to God by New Zealand born, Melbourne-based musician Sarah Mary Chadwick. This fresh take on eight standout tracks from the album is called Messages To God, Unadornedand features just her voice and Rhodes piano, “presenting the songs in?a more speculative, intimate form… stripped back, atmospheric, torrid and tender by turns”.
?? Sooper released That's what I been sayin', the new LP from Lebanon born, Chicago based multi-instrumentalist, composer and academic Rami Gabriel. He said about the album: “On this record, I use the sound of my voice to unite the diverse range of my musical pursuits and songwriting. Through integrating lo-fi solo home recordings with analog studio work, this album also showcases the devotion to sound quality, which brings together my community of collaborators.” Keep scrolling for an unsettling video for latest single Love stop Hugo. ?? ZZK released Mitos & Ritos, the debut EP by Ecuadorian group Cruzloma. Across its six tracks, the record takes “a journey into mysticism, the jungle and the dancefloor” and consolidates “a spirit of promoting traditional rhythms in contemporary styles, a process of reinvention and self-discovery in homage to the indigenous peoples of the Ecuadorian jungle and the riches of ceremonial music.”
?? INNI released Stages of Change, a new EP by Stockholm based composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jakob Lindhagen, that features six new compositions “…from piano miniatures, string quartets and electronic ambient swells.”
SINGLES
?? Propeller Recordings released When I Was Young, a track by Rochester, NY punk band New Math that they left unrecorded in their heyday but is now seeing the light of day after they re-formed last year.

Vocalist/guitarist TJ Freda says of the track: “The song is about the endless cycle of a relationship, the back and forth in both euphoria and doubt. The chorus “I never told you why’ is about never being able to say how you really feel, not having closure and the cycle continuing."?
?? Merge released Zayre, the new track by Previous Industries. It’s the third single from their forthcoming album Service Merchandise, which is due out June 28th.
REISSUES
?? Org Music announced that they’re releasing a 10th anniversary reissue of the Together Pangea record Badillac. The release includes a second LP of demos and unreleased rarities and will be in stores from August 16th.
