IBM Z & LinuxONE Container Registry
When you think about having a trusted supply chain I'm sure most of us gravitate to things in the physical world, but with cyber threats in software rapidly rising, having a secure supply chain for software development is more important than ever.
One of the messages we've heard loud and clear from our IBM Z and LinuxONE clients is that when it comes to the mission critical applications that they depend on the Z platform for, they're looking to IBM to give them confidence that the containerized packages they want to use can be trusted. So its with great pleasure that today we're able to launch the IBM Z and LinuxONE Container Registry - the new trusted and curated repository for accessing OCI compliant container images for deployment on z/OS Container Extension, Linux on Z and LinuxONE.
At launch there are more than 60 open source containers to go and explore, complete with hashed docker pull strings for easy access and synchronization with your local repositories along with vulnerability reports to give you added confidence...and best yet, all of this is available from IBM free of charge.
To learn more about the new IBM Z and LinuxONE Container Registry you can visit the new site here where you can explore the benefits, sign up for the service and browse the image list for yourself.?
Of course this is just a subset of what is available in the overall Open Source eco-system today for packages that run on IBM Z and LinuxONE, so if there is something you'd like us to to include in this new registry that is not yet available then please let us know by using the GitHub issue process on the site.
