IBM Cloud Private is GA - 3 things you should know

On Nov 1, 2017, IBM anounced the GA of IBM Cloud Private ( ICP). IBM Cloud private is an application platform for developing and managing on-premises, contanarized applications. It is an integrated environment for managing containers that includes the container orchestrator Kubernetes, a private image repository, a management console, and monitoring frameworks.

Why IBM Cloud Private ?

Even though public clouds are being widely used there are still certain reservations because of security, data sovereignty, governance and performance. ICP brings the best of both the worlds i.e. public Cloud and Private Cloud. In one software install on-premises, you can have Kubernetes Container Orchestration, Cloud Foundry runtimes, pre-packaged IBM middleware, and multi-cloud orchestration.

What are the use cases and when to use ICP ?

ICP can be used in 3 scenarios :
