IBBY JAPAN 50
The Japanese Board on Books for Young People (JBBY) was founded in 1974?as the Japanese Section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY).?
Since the establishment, JBBY has been active in international cooperative programs and as IBBY’s section in Japan.
JBBY aims to give children access to books with high literary and artistic standards and to encourage the publication and distribution of quality children’s books.?
For this special anniversary, JBBY is publishing a special anniversary magazine. Japanese and international personalities express their experiences and point out the importance of IBBY worldwide.
I am very honoured to contribute an article as well. I wrote about my visit to Japan in 2018, the presentation of the Andersen Award to Eido Kadono and about the presence of the Japanese Empress at the IBBY Congress in Basel.
Also articles by Liz Page, Sylvia Vardell, Mingzhou Zhang, Leena Maisen, Ahmad Redza… and others.
