RECAP: The UI and UX design activities and contents were discussed along with accessibility and ARIA.
UI-UX Design
In general the UX design encompasses the activities as depicted below. The UX is something how a user interacts with and experience a product, systems or service.
On the other hand, UI- User Interface more about the visual elements liked a screen, buttons etc. used in a product, system or service which user interacts with.

What is accessibility?
Its essentially a concept - whether a product, system or service can be used by everyone no matter how they encounter or interact with it.
In generally, the accessibility laws exists formed by Governmental to aid people with disabilities. The UI, UX designers shall try to expand these laws to all potential users in myriad of contexts so as to arrive at overall better design .

What's is APG?
APG is ARIA Authoring Practices Guide. It elaborates the design patterns and examples. The WAI-ARIA 1.0 https://www.w3.org/TR/2014/REC-wai-aria-20140320/ specification provides an ontology of roles, states and properties which defines the accessible user interface elements that can be used for the improvements in the accessibility and interoperability of web content.

Legal & Ethical Considerations
Various countries have formulated accessibility laws. ADA- Americans with Disabilities Act. There is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at global level. Adherence to these laws and standards is important not just from legal requirement but from ethical point of view.
Challenges for accessibility
Misperception
Misperceptions and misconceptions about accessibility can impede progress. This generally can happen because of missing the step of going to the depth of laws, standards & guidelines. This can be handled through trainings and education.
Technology Barriers
The ever changing and ever evolving technological landscape always may not augur well with accessibility needs & specifications. The development teams requires to exercise cognizance while embracing new technology & practices and shall try to balance it out.
