i4 Speaker Series

This week’s i4 was conducted on 22nd October 2016 at the iFEEL campus, Lonavala. This week saw the presence of two speakers from prominent arenas of various industries. Our first speaker for the day was Mr. Shashank Joshi, Pan India QA Head at Vista Processed Foods Pvt Ltd, Mumbai. With a vast experience of over 30 years, Mr. Joshi started the session with a presentation on QSR Industry or the Quick Service Restaurant Industry. Mr.Joshi talked about the role of media in creating different perceptions in the mind of people regarding processed foods. He cleared all the myths about processed and organic foods. Mr. Joshi also talked about the opportunities in the Food Processing industry which has grown to be a 20,000 crore industry.

Our next speaker for the day was Mr. Viral Thakker, Founder- eBZaar.com & Director, Yamini India Pvt. Ltd. With an extensive experience of over 20 years in the sphere of Banking & Financial Services, he has worked with JP Morgan as Executive Director for 13years. Mr.Viral started the session by encouraging the students about entrepreneurship and clarifying their curiosity with his experience. He spoke about his start-up and how it is different from other similar businesses as he is trying to connect the local merchant with the customer directly. To motivate, he narrated the story of a ‘Samosawala’ who rather than doing a job, chose to do business, earn profit and leave a base behind for his kids to take it further. When asked what has kept him going, he replied that constant support from his family and his will to get into business from the very start led him to leave his job and the security and get into entrepreneurship.
