I worked with Calgary’s Top Leading Residential firm - 3 Things I Learned.

Understanding how to process large volumes of analytical data, while prioritizing customer success ??

ie. People came first and luckily we were entrusted with a lot of people

*It was about mastering the simple things.

Top 3 things I learned ?.

1. People have a Heart in Property ?? -

A lot of the files I worked with were honest moments of peoples lives - there was the One-side of Real Estate: which was about closing deals and making commissions and getting the paperwork signed.

But at Karen King - we were managing peoples accounts and understood this was people's homes - memories are made inside here. And so, there was an understanding that the client who was most honest about the property - got their side of the story told & we would listen.

It wasn't just about managing their money and the monthly payments. We wanted people to feel like this was a home.

2. We managed money & documentation: impeccably ????.

The word System doesn't do it justice - from Shaking-Hands and greeting the client on the first day. To making sure we kept the books in order - there was a smooth process to the transition. Like, a well-oiled machine man... it was impressive to see how the little details added up:

We digitized everything, and always had a copy. If it was for a client it was put into an alphabetized folder - everything was in an alphabetized folder. With months and dates.

The whole role and point was that -

  1. We understood what was happening properly ??
  2. We could retrieve information fast
  3. The client understood that we understood. Cause we did... we paid attention properly due to how well everything was extremely organized in the main office. ??

Makes sense, but there's a way to do things so that... everyday things are functioning properly.

3. Lastly, People are Kind ??.

The Head Accountant was stressed about numbers:

  1. Everything makes sense and is ordered properly

And then...

2. Does everyone feel included?

Was not expecting that when I walked in - but impeccable kindness and integrity was the main thing. Respect for all, others, and people. As well as, others stuff - everyone has their own thing going on for better/worse.

In residential property - pipes break, grass needs to be mowed, people have safety and security concerns. We cared about peoples concerns - so acknowledge that and also, what is the most honest and best course of action moving forward. And explain that to people.

But that surprisingly, that wasn't the most important thing in Residential Property.
