A beloved client who has hired me a few times to train her team on personal branding and social media, recently told me that she thinks of a post I made on LinkedIn often. And it essentially says that you are being selfish if you don’t share what you know with others. Who are you to hold your gifts to yourself and not help others with your voice??
I make this argument with people who think that posting on social media is egotistical and very “look at me” and, while that is one way people do use social media, I’m here to advocate for us all to use social media to help others and to better your community at scale in a way that only you can.
THE SCOOP
I had the opportunity to lead a Maximizing Impact Masterclass during NC MedAssist ’s Leadership Summit this week and it filled my cup like no other to be in a room with individuals who give themselves every day to their community. I love this organization, its CEO Brenda Vass , and the mission-filled work they do to save lives through dispensing no-cost prescription and over-the-counter medication to those in need across the state. They are the ONLY statewide non-profit pharmacy in North Carolina. If you’ve been looking for an organization to donate to or give your talent and time, I encourage you to look into this one.
FACEBOOK: Would you pay?
INSTAGRAM: Every time I use the Notes feature on Instagram, I am pleasantly surprised by the response that I'll get from people direct messaging me. Glad to see they're adding to it.?
LINKEDIN: More and more platforms are integrating AI into a “coach” or “assistant” role.

META: Campbell was the leader of Facebook prioritizing news back in the day. I remember being in a private Facebook group only available to journalists and those in news where she was an admin and would answer our questions and help us publish news on our platforms.?

SOCIAL MEDIA: News outlets need to rely more heavily on newsletters and finding alternative ways to monetize a direct-to-consumer easily digestible product.
