Welcome back to the 13th edition of my weekly newsletter. This newsletter will provide various topics of engagement to parents and their children who are preparing for different competitive exams. So, parents are requested to share this newsletter with their kids and help them to boost up their exam preparation.
I call this newsletter One2One (1-2-1), where I'll be sharing;
- 1 story
- 2 Productivity Hacks
- 1 Must watch video
So without further ado, let's begin with today's story.
Story 1- Kaash maine thodi aur mehant kari hoti.
(I wish I worked a little harder)
“An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but the time was right and he was ready to hang up the hammer.
His boss was disappointed as the carpenter had been a loyal and diligent worker for many years, so he was sad to see him go.
He asked for one last favor, requesting that the carpenter could build just one more house before retiring. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.
When the carpenter finished his work, his boss came to inspect the house. He handed the front door key to the carpenter. “This is your house,†he said, “my gift to you.†The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.
Moral:-
1. Most of the students also make the same mistake that the carpenter made. The time when they must work hard, they don’t and when they score less in exams, all they say is
??? ????? ????? ?? ????? ??? ?????
2. There are many students who give their best in the first 90% but give up in the last 10%. We know that even 1 mark can make or break the game and here we are talking about a crucial 10%.
3.They fail to give their 100%. They don’t revise their concepts properly and when they encounter questions in exams that they could have solved if they studied their concepts a little bit more properly, they lament.
4. Some of the students lose focus and get distracted while on the other hand, there are some students who think of every situation as an opportunity and work even harder.
5. These students do not focus on their results. They focus on their hard work.
6. Remember one thing, when you get bothered by problems, you will lose sight of your goal but when you decide to remain undistracted by your problems, your goal becomes clear.
7. When these students fail, they blame their teachers, mentors, and coaching institutes.
8. So, make sure to take your preparation seriously because your decisions matter in your preparation.

Topper Tips
1. Analyze your Mock Tests- “An important part of the preparation was analyzing mocks thoroughly. I took two mocks over the weekends and analyzed the scores.â€- Soumyojit Sarkar - SBI Probationary Officer.
2. Solve your doubts on the same day itself.- “A very common mistake that most of the students make is that they keep their doubts for later part of preparation and don’t solve it then and there. This does not give conceptual clarity.â€- Akhil Jain (100 Percentile) JEE Main 2020.
