I wanted to write about LOVE today

LOVE is my favourite topic. Today I wanted to write about LOVE, wish you a Happy Valentines - which I still do... and then one train after the other got cancelled this morning.
My older son was supposed to leave on an earlier train to go surfing (with school), so I was up earlier than usual, to hear "Mum, the train just got cancelled!". I didn't think anything of it and jumped in the shower to get ready to drive him and his mate.
Finally in the car, the first call came through "Marie are you heading up North?" ~ "Yes, why?" ~ "There was a really bad accident, the traffic is horrendous, and southbound is closed, so you won't be able to come back for a few hours!"
Well, I came prepared; laptop in my bag, I had planned to write my LinkedIn Love Letter from a café anyway. Yet this wasn't the topic I wanted to write about. I had a few more phone calls coming through my car, and I answered every single one of them with "Happy Valentines!". It seemed like everybody had forgotten, as the standard answer was "Oh... yeah! Valentines!"
Then my older son said "What a day to die!"
Now, we don't know yet whether anybody has actually died in this horrendous accident this morning, but it did get me thinking. The last Celebration of Life I held was for a gentleman who passed on Christmas Eve. Stop-and-going along with traffic this morning this thought infused my mind: Is there actually a "good" day to die?
Here's what I came to:
At the end, what really matters, is how we lived our lives. What impression we're leaving with those who stay behind. Did we make the world a better place?
What matters most to me is:
So, now is probable a good time to share with you that I am proud and deeply happy to announce: I am a global ambassador for The Backyard Peace Project!
Today, we take a stand for something bigger than ourselves. A movement. A mission. A revolution of peace that starts in our own backyards and ripples across the world. And we are inviting YOU to be part of history as one of our Founding Members.
This isn’t just a project — it’s a global heartbeat of hope, connection, and healing. In a world that often feels divided, overwhelming, and disconnected, we are choosing something different.
We are choosing unity.
We are choosing transformation.
We are choosing peace.
Founding Members are the ones who will lay the first bricks of this movement, shaping a powerful foundation for the generations to come. Imagine being part of something that changes lives, strengthens communities, and makes an impact that echoes through time. Imagine telling your grandchildren, "I was there at the very beginning. I helped build this."
This is your invitation. Your moment. If your heart is calling you to something deeper, to be a leader in a movement that matters, this is it.
Join us. Stand with us. Let’s make history together: https://backyard-peace-project.mn.co
