UI / UX Design are fashionable terms, and have a prominent place in the most influential IT skills, and because of this, has attracted interest from many people who wish to start or even migrate to this area. Not by chance, they want this, because there is a great offer of jobs with a good remuneration among other possibilities.
If you are one of those people who wants to delve deeper into this area, here are some things you need to know before venturing into this new experience. I recommend beforehand answering some key questions such as: - How much knowledge do you know about the user experience? Do you know how to become a user experience designer? Based on these answers, you will know at what point you should leave.
First of all, we need to understand what UX design would actually be, mainly because this term is easily confused with other similar ones like UI, CX, IA IxD, among others. This lot of acronym seems strange at first for lay people, pretending to be the same thing, however, we will see that it is not well, because if you want to be a user experience designer, you need to know what is user experience and what A good UX designer does. Knowing a little of these other terms also helps you to know the difference of each so that there is no confusion.
The user experience (UX) refers to a person's emotions and attitudes about the use of a particular product, system, or service, including practical, experiential, affective, meaningful, and valuable aspects of human-machine interaction, as well as Product, which includes a person's perceptions about aspects of the system such as utility, ease of use, and efficiency.
It is recommended that you have some basic knowledge on the principle of user experience design so that you become a good UX designer, delving deeper into the subject by reading articles and books relevant to the subject.
Learning the basics and practicing the design tools is the best way to save your time, since both leaders and clients prefer to see the tangible and real project, not caring much about the theory behind it and what it says about the project. To help in this process, some mockup & wireframing & Apps design tools for UI / UX designers are used to provide something more concrete and visual design, such as Invision, Mockplus, Axure, Justinmind, Uxpin, Marvel, Balsamiq, Adobe XD, among other tools.
In addition to the principle and design tools, the other key element is inspiration, which can be gained by seeing some references and designs from other designers. The most conventional ones are Behance and Dribble, which are communities that bring together works of various artists and designers, offering images, layouts, mockups, icons among other visual resources that serve as inspiration for creation.
In addition, try some internship in the area so that you can gain experience by participating in the entire project planning and development process, especially if possible, by integrating with a startup, as these offer more opportunities since they are engaged in innovative projects and new challenges.
If your choice is in fact a UX designer, this will not happen in a short amount of time. I'm sorry to disappoint you, because with everything I've said before, you need to dedicate yourself and take a deep look at the subject, as well as trying as hard as possible to experience everyday life and risk putting everything you have learned into practice.
