I want my routine back...!

Before lockdown hit, I was very definitely a creature of habit and lived by my daily routine, even on weekends!

My alarm was set for the same time every morning, gym before work, left the gym same time every day and then arrived in the office at the same time each day! Evenings were just as routine - there may have been a different activity but I always tried to make sure I had tea before 8pm, settled and then bed for 10pm! If this didnt go to plan I would get stressed.

7 weeks ago this was all thrown apart as we stopped working, gyms shut and the days began to merge in to one. Since then I have tried to maintain some level of routine in all this madness, walks in the morning, home workouts done in a morning and then eaten and relaxed by the same time every night. I have surprised myself and adjusted to this routine which has become my 'new norm'

However, now there is talk of measures being relaxed and hopes that we will begin a staggered approach out of lockdown I can't help but get really excited to get back to my old routine, my usual working day and walking through those gym doors again!

I think these times have tested us all in different ways and I can definitely say that I miss work, I miss my morning gym session and my 5.15am alarm!!!

I have always been a creature of routine....I just never realized how much and actually how much support / comfort / confidence that routine actually gave me!!!!
