I Want To Know Why...

  • No matter how much I save I still end up broke
  • I can tell you about a newspaper I read 2 years ago but cannot remember the math formula I spent the last 30 minutes memorizing
  • My mom doesn't like sugary foods but can be bribed with ice-cream and chocolate bars
  • People who have a seemingly normal childhood join gangs
  • People cheat on their partners and blame it on the devil
  • My sister gets angry every time she cleans but says she loves cleaning
  • My former roommate religiously went grocery shopping every month but had take-outs for dinner.
  • I can't stick to any diet or exercise plan
  • I do 99% of the things I do
  • People start their sentence with don't take this the wrong way when they are about to say something wrong
  • We think our feelings are validation to hurt others
  • We feel entitled even to things we have no claim on.
  • All my ideas freeze up the moment I take pen to paper.

I want to know why all the ideas I have for a story freeze up the moment I put pen to paper. I

have been trying to start a book for the longest time but every time I decide to start one, my

brain goes completely blank. I stare at the blinking cursor until I give up and just read a book

instead. I do a great job of critiquing books `written by others: helping other writers adjust

their plot, story-lines and even conversations. I can tell a story verbally but once I make the

decision to put the ideas down, it all goes poof. I should probably stick to book editing or

critiquing. Thank heavens I do not plan to make a living out of writing...
