I want to get back to what I was…

Interestingly enough I have found myself saying this a lot, what does it even mean?
I literally was in the best shape of my life in 2019 ,? the same year the entire world was navigating COVID and people were living their lives with uncertainty, I was rocking it on my personal and fitness goal journey.
It was a goal I set for myself and wanted to keep…
I thought ok I have the ambition and drive to get me here , sustaining , well not so much.
Why is that?
Seth Godin says;
Your Life Goals are Not Your Habits
Your audacious life goals are fabulous. We’re proud of you for having them. But it’s possible that those goals are designed to distract you from the thing that’s really frightening you—the shift in daily habits that would mean a re–invention of how you see yourself.
— Seth Godin
This resonates with me. Why ? Because it’s true .
Re-inventing yourself…. That’s just it ,why waste so much time wanting to get back to a past version of yourself? The whole idea is to grow and evolve right?
Getting back to my old self wouldn’t serve a purpose,? I think the whole purpose is to become a different version of myself . I’m older, my shape is softer my hair is whiter. I am different than I was in 2019 , 2020 and so forth. I’ve navigated different obstacles in my life over the last few years.
Rather than focusing on getting back to what I was I am focusing on what I am
Kind and compassionate, rooting for others in their successes and lifting them up through their failures
I am exactly what I need to be …right now at this very moment.
