Imagineer Your Future... Discover Your Core Passions

“I took the road less traveled by,” to quote Robert Frost, who is one of the most-famous and best-read poet, well-known at least in my boomer gen. However, I am not sure that it’s even read today in classrooms or for the last twenty years as it doesn’t fit the present-day narrative. It asks us to decide where are you going. This kind of personal retrospect is not necessarily what is on top of people’s minds today. The modern mind finds self-reflection and awakening to their core passions being tied to God's equipping and personal mission for each person as hard to comprehend.

I know my children were all taught in grade school through high school that they had to work in groups or teams. Although it is true in life, it is just slightly twisted by disconnecting our children’s interest in entrepreneurial pursuits of the American Dream. Rather what is expected today regardless of their intellectual ascension or IQ number are individuals using their God-given talents to forge their own way despite all the others around them to rise to the highest level that is possible for them. I fought very hard to help my children see and experience it in action. I worked in my home design studio as a freelance graphic designer for most of my career. My children observe for themselves the advantages as a countermeasure to these groupthink concepts taught in school. I know that my children have caught these ideas and principles functioning as much happier, healthier, and more productive young men and women, now valuable adults because of both I and my wife’s examples.

Standing out from the crowd is literally frowned on today. The masses no longer value the contribution of the individual who work with their hands and minds to produce the next breakthrough product or service. We are made to believe that only the corporate or government world can achieve anything of great importance today or for coming generations. This kind of absurd thinking is part of the programmed dumbing down of America so that we will accept much less of ourselves. This kind programming destroys our self-esteem, making us more subservient to those in authority over us who wish to control us and cut us off from our true image and inheritance as people of the Creator God.

One of the cover-ups today is to emphasize having a college or university degree or MBA in order to enter into the business world. This is educational concept is simply untrue, and it has never been a requirement unless you wake up and smell the roses and realize that what others are trying to paint as your future is only an image of their utopian ideology. This mind-set actually results in the opposite for students and keeps them financially trapped by reducing their career choices and distorts their worldview after graduation.

No one in their right mind can see the dwindling of family building and becoming skilled workers of every kind as a good direction or sustainable for our country’s economic health and stability. We simply don’t need any more ideologists; we need more pragmatists that get down and get dirty to engage and grapple with our society to form and shape it with true American ideals. Upholding our freedom by our constitutional rights, not sitting back in our ivory towers and plotting how to change everything so it fits our ideal or the insane inhumane dystopias while they set themselves up as gods destroying all that we have been founded upon. Sound like a bad movie? All you have to do is just look at the content of the movies that are being producing of late. That is a big clue as to what they want us to believe is coming. Wake up, America; we do not have to just swallow this stuff. We are free; don’t allow others to steal that freedom away from you.

I guess my recent award-winning song from my album Sonrise a New Tomorrow says it best; it speaks of this present state of mindlessness we are presently living in. It asks the listeners a personal question: What will your response be?

Where Are You Goin’

Music by Singer/Songwriter Les LaMotte

Lyrics by Les LaMotte & Peter Reese ? 1993 ASCAP

Where are you goin’, is every direction the same?

Where are you goin’, are you livin’ in pain, are you livin’ in pain?

Is there somebody who’ll set you straight.

Give you direction, and won’t hesitate, who won’t hesitate.

I’ve met somebody, who sees me goin’ somewhere.

I trust somebody ’cause he really cares, yeah he really cares.

His name is Jesus, he’s got a plan for your life.

He brings you direction, turns pain to delight, he turns pain to delight.

Jesus is here now, we’re ready to start, take the first step now.

Give him your heart, yeah, give Him your heart.

Come give him your heart, yeah, come give him your heart.

Right now!
