I was told that I wouldn’t be able to get back where I was without starting at the very bottom again.

When I was laid off the economy was also a factor.

I was told stories I didn't like the sound of.

I was told it was unheard to be paid as much as I was, and I shouldn’t get my hopes up.I was told that was not happening again anytime soon “especially with the market how it is”?

This is what the woman at the outplacement agency said.

The agency hired to do the layoffs and give our severance packages.

This message was backed up with other supporting messages like:

?? “You were lucky to have that job”

?? “You probably shouldn’t have been paid that much anyway”

?? “That was a special case”

?? “Are you kidding? Followed by laughter”

?? “Things aren’t what they used to be it’s going to be much harder now”

?? “You just got lucky with that”I know that this is what many of you here as well, sometimes from family who doesn’t know any better.

They mean well and they disguise it as trying to “help” or “protect you” from disappointment.

But really they are handing you THEIR limitations.?We live in a society where these messages are much more prevalent than the opposite ones.?

I'm really tired of these messages and I'm even more tired of people believing them.

We here More messages of:

?? “It’s rough out there…”

?? “Are you sure about that?”

?? “It’s a bleak time”

?? “Umm now’s not the best time…”

?? “Well you know lots of people have a lot more experience than you do on that, so I wouldn't’ get your hopes up!”“Have you even done anything like that before?”

And these are more normal statements of truth for most people.?But I don’t know where I’d be if I had listened to these.I didn’t feel right about that being my truth.?

Because my truth sounded more like this:

Sure you can TRY to hand me your limitations, But did you know I can just as easily hand them right back to you?

There was never any chalk board in the sky that stated “Natalie will have to start from the bottom again”

So I chose to disagree.

I chose to think… “Just watch me and see, I’ll show you what’s actually possible”

???? And it was, and I did the “impossible” Landed the job I wanted in HR and ended up creating a huge Jump through the Value Creation Value Communication process that I now figured out how to share with you too!On my upcoming Masterclass Series.?

People will always try to put THEIR limitations onto us.

????But we don’t need to take them.When people hand us their two cents.?We can politely *hand their two cents right back* and say thanks but no thanks.?

???? If it feels like someone is handing you a bag of turds, that feeling means they are…
