Once in a while, a special someone comes along that really makes a difference in our community, that truly makes an impact in our lives. Once in a while, one of our very own steps forward and shows us that we can be better, that we can make a difference, that we can serve with dignity, respect, and joy.

That once in a while is here. That special someone is Daniel A. Alvarez, Sr. a first-generation American born and raised in Florida. His story is our story. His accomplishments are our wins. His dedication, desire to serve, commitment to our people, and true desire to make a difference in our community is real, is honest, and is what sets him apart.

I Support Danny Alvarez!

Danny is running for Hillsborough County Circuit Court Judge, Group 30. I not only support his candidacy, I wholeheartedly endorse him.

As you will read below, Danny has dedicated his entire professional life to serving the less fortunate, to helping our community, to improving the lives our citizens. I believe he will be an excellent judge, providing all who come before him the dignity and respect they deserve. He will be fair, and honest. He will listen, and learn. He will work hard, harder than any other public servant we will ever elect.

He is One of Us

Like many of us, Danny’s family escaped communist Cuba seeking freedom and opportunity in the United States. So he understands what it is like to grow up fighting for every inch, he knows what it is like to work hard, to dream, to achieve, to serve, and to give back.

He Served Our Country

After high school, Danny attended the University of Florida, where he received his Bachelor’s of science in Journalism. Upon graduation from UF, Danny was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. During his time in the military, Danny was deployed to South Korea as a line platoon leader and later assigned to various leadership positions within the US Army Airborne School.

Committed to Serving Our Community

After serving his country, and desiring to continue to serve his community, Danny attended Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. After passing the Florida Bar exam, he attended the University of Miami School of Law LL.M. program in Estate Planning.

Since then, he has committed to helping those in our community who are often overlooked, working for The Center for Special Needs Trust Administration and Boston Asset Management as Associate General Counsel, at the Sanchez Law Offices, leading the firm’s Litigation and Estate Planning Group, and ultimately in The Alvarez Legal Group. In 2017, Danny joined the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Public Affairs Office, becoming Chief Communications Officer.

Recognized for Helping Our Community

Because of his consistent focus on helping our community, Danny has been awarded the Tampa Bay Business Journal Heroes At Work in 2014 and 2016, was named the Hispanic Man of the Year by Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc. in 2015, and was awarded the Al Gallon Ministries Community Service Person of the Year in 2015.

His community service didn’t stop there. Danny has also served as an adjunct Business Law Professor at the University of Tampa, was appointed by the Hillsborough County Commission as a member of the Hillsborough Children’s Services Advisory Board, and appointed by the Governor of Florida to sit on the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority.

Danny has also served as President of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Hispanic Advisory Board, is a lifetime member of The Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, a perpetual member of several Masonic organizations in the Tampa Area and was member of La Casa Cuba de Tampa.

Fairness, Respect, and Justice for All

As he has lived his entire life, Danny’s campaign will focus on the tenets of what makes our judicial system strong – fairness for all parties, respect for all litigants, a commitment to equality under the law, and justice for all. I am looking forward to helping Danny share these principles with the voters of the 13th Judicial Circuit and excited to see Danny become our next Circuit Court Judge.
