I shared my learnings on How to Start and Scale an Event Ticketing Company at The UcheUgo Series

I shared my idea on How to Start and Scale an Event Ticketing Company at The UcheUgo Series with Event Entrepreneurs. This masterclass was put together by Design & Personal Brand Developer, Uche Ugo. The goal was to clarify ticketing in Nigeria and discuss on how to navigate the Eco-System.

In 2016, I quit my day job to focus on my start-up, Seats and Tickets - a tech start-up that ensures seamless customer experience at events. Our SEATr platform enables event organizers to properly account for the number of people that attend their events, thereby eliminating analog means of registration and ticketing at the event.

Don’t be intimidated by the size of the competition. Focus on mastering and executing your unique difference.

Ticketing like any other business comes with challenges; however, spending time to learn about every aspect of the business and mastering your unique difference is what will make you distinct from the competitive society outside.

Here are a few things to note if you are looking to start an event and ticketing company:

Don’t be intimidated by the size of the competition.

1. Don’t be intimidated by the size of the competition and those who started before you. There is always room for you.

2. Starting from the bottom is not the problem, however, staying there is. The best approach is to start from where you are with what you’ve got and work your way up.

Experience your business like a customer but think like an investor.

3. Experience your business like a customer but think like an investor. This way you see the gaps in the system and can proffer solutions which would further stand your brand apart.
