It is uncharitable to bash someone's reputation intentionally and/or launch a personal attack.

However, it is virtuous and beneficial for the public if you seek the truth in a professional and reflective way through intelligent discussions.

?

Take these actions TODAY:

  • Use a reflective and curious tone when arguing with someone online.
  • Before you post the comment, read it and ask yourself, "Would I be offended if someone said this back to me?"
  • Then ask yourself, "Am I making enough of a substantial point that the reader will learn something from what I am saying?"

Don't back down from meaningful discussion. There's so much garbage out there that if you say something intelligent you'll probably be in the 0.01% of commentators that day.

Do it professionally and have the goal be the truth, not just to win their argument for the sake of your own ego.

Yeah?

Yaaaaah.
