Releasing my ‘Giver’ Self
This eclipse is so powerful because it’s bringing a lot of unconscious patterns to the surface so that we can finally release them and change our ways for the better.
One major pattern that I noticed about myself and that’s preventing me from receiving is that I was giving way too much.
I brought awareness to this pattern a few months ago and I decided to stop posting to Twitter. I now only share links for the blog posts that I publish and that’s it. No more excessive tweeting and sharing.
But my giving is not limited to ‘X’. I realized that in my friendships, I was also giving more than I was receiving. And this applies to everything.
For example, reaching out to friends on Instagram and sending messages to check in or say hi.
I think that’s exactly what triggered my recent decision to stop giving and just be open to receive.
I realized that if some friends feel that they’re too busy to reciprocate or respond to my messages, then I must be giving more than I should.
I know my value really well and I know how good and genuine of a friend I am. So I decided to stop giving – but not only with friends.
I won’t be giving in any interaction – whether it’s online or offline. I can only receive.
Let me tell you what happened so far once I set that intention yesterday.
Examples of How to Receive
Yesterday, this old pattern of being a giver was highlighted and amplified. So I wrote a post-it note that said: “Practice Receiving instead of Giving” and I kept it on my desk, in front of my closed laptop.
Let me share with you what happened since I wrote that note:
How to Shift this Pattern
Receiving Mode: ON
One last thing that I want to add is that even when I’m not receiving, I won’t be giving. For example, let’s say that no friend reaches out to me. Great. I will still not reach out, engage with their social media content or take action. I will simply be. I’m in receiving mode only. There’s no energy left for giving.
Since I’m only receiving, feel free to get my ebook for $9.99 USD for a limited period. Thank you in advance.
Receiving mode: ON.
Love,
Leela
